Wrestling For Charity was founded in 2005 by Robert "Butch" Haugh in an effort to combine his passion and knowledge of professional wrestling and business savvy into an entertaining family event. Haugh's fiancee Nerissa and long-time best friend Jonathan "Tony DeAnza" Bautista are co-founders.
After being involved in professional wrestling in various roles, Butch decided to start Wrestling For Charity in 2005, aiming at bringing more wholesome professional wrestling entertainment and positive messages and morals to those whom otherwise might not have received otherwise.
